What would you do with your 383?

So here's my dilemma, I am wanting to get more power out of my IROC, it currently runs 13.3s on the stock TPI manifold, runners, and plenum. I am undecided about whether to go carb or HSR. I think by the time I got a chip tuned for it the HSR might be more expensive. Anyone with any $$$$ figures let me know. If anyone is running a 383 carbed, what size carb did you use and what kind of times are you turning? I'm running a BW 2.77 posi out back so if anyone has a lead for a 3.42 or 3.45 disc rearend let me know. Thanks in advance.

what kind of times are u looking to get? i ran a similar setup to yours about a year ago it had 383 stroker with 9.2 compression ratio hyper pistons with stock 305 tpi intake, trickflow twisted wedge heads outta the box. it ran a best of 13.2 at 103.5 mph with a custom grind comp cam 212/218 dur.@ .50,.44/.464 lift. just curious what were your cam specs? had some friends put a 750 dp on his 92 camaro ran 11s with a big cam and ported heads. it all depends on what u are looking for? it would be my guess that goin efi would be more expensive than goin carb.

I'd go with the HSR and a healthy cam, somewhere around 230-ish duration and .575" lift. Put some 3.73's in the rear and about a 3000 or so stall and you'd have a nice, streetable ride. What's the HSR, $500? And a cam maybe around $250-300.

I went to carb and hate it the stealth ram is going back on as soon as I get enough money for a new wire harness.I have a edelbrock 750,weiand stealth series manifold no times yet. With the stealth ram the engine ran smoother with the carb its more raw. Also the hot cam is kind of mild Im going to change it to a comp XE282HR Dur. 330-336 Lift .510-.520 LSA110.After I get some times with the hot cam.My 2500 stall is not enough getting a 3200 stall to fix that.

I believe the cam is about a 224/226 duration at 110 degree lobe seperation. I'd like to be in the 12s with just the intake. I think I could touch the 11s though with a rearend and a good intake and maybe some suspension components. I think a carb swap would probably be about $1000 the HSR maybe a little less but I'm pretty sure I'm going to go with new injectors because I swapped mine out and they looked bigger than my stock ones. The newer injectors are green with a silver bottom so if anyone has any ideas about what they are let me know. I thought maybe they were Multecs.
