mine is acting up so instead of tearing the intake apart and replacing it i just want to block it off. i read someplace on here that all i need to do is block off the hose that goes to it. will this work or am i stuck removing the intake ll together? i am aware of the SES light coming on but im just sick of the crappy part throttle performance. ill be switching to a LT1 intaked 383 later this year so ill eventually be removing it. i just want the easiest possible solution. thanks.

you can block the hose that goes to it but make sure the egr isn't stuck in the half open position, or you'll still have part throtle problems

what if u took the egr of the car would that have an affect on throttle responce.

taking the egr off will have about the same effect as blocking it off, as long as the egr isn't stuck in the half way open position. If you do take the egr valve off, you must put a block off plate on the intake. You can buy one at most parts stores but you have to ask for it usually and you may have to let them know it's going on a race engine, and not you're street car.(for legal purposes). You may have to use a higher octane gas that usual also. My Egr was so clogged up that I had to use 92 or better anyway, so when I blocked it off I was already using the good stuff.
