cooling problems with ram air ?

I was thinking about adding a ram boxes to my car but I’m kinda worried that if I cut holes in my air dam to fit the boxes I end up with I cooling problem.
Having ram air would divert most of the incoming air up into the intake instead of the radiator. What do you guys think, would it cause me cooling problems ? Does anyone with ram air have experience on this ? I mean afterall GM must have had a reason to put in an air dam.
Thanks a lot
Alex

ps: these are the boxes I'm talking about

I have the same type ram air and don't have any cooling problems. But I did notice a nice increase in roll on power above about 50 mph.
