Computer Problem?
Hi all. I've been messing with the code 36 my car has been setting off. I've replaced everything in that system from the diagrams I've found in my searches and am still getting the code. The only thing left is the ECM. I've been able to push voltage through each wire back to the ECM from the MAF, and MAF relays. Lately, my car has even started to stumble under acceleration while at operating temperature. When it's cold there's no problem. It has also begun to 'idle hunt' from time to time. Does this sound like a problem with the ECM not supplying the power to the MAF for the burn off function? I believe that the stumbling may be because of build up on the hot wire inside the MAF. I've been having trouble checking my TPS voltage as well, since I can never seem to get a paperclip or whatever inside that housing to get a reading. Any tips on that?
The stumbling may also be associated with another problem - like the ignition module. I found that the connector from the stator to the ignition module was missing and it was barely making contact - this was the cause for the stumbling in my case.
Maybe the stator is barely working in your car.
