Injector-retainer clip???
I brought my car to a shop and they lost the clip for the #1 cylinder injector, they just used a peice of wire in it's place.
Can I buy these thing's?? Also, I can put my finger on every injector and feel them clicking, except for the one that the clip is not in. If I push and hold it in the fuel rail while the car is running, then I feel it click(or pulse). And yes when I unplug it, the car start's to get rough idle(so I think it work's fine). I changed them when the shop told me that was the problem, so they are all new accell injectors.

Are you talking the clip on the electrical connector or on the fuel injector where it connects to the fuel rail? The one on the fuel rail is not neccessary. The one on the electrical connector should there to keep it from vibrating off. I have not seen the clips available by themselves, however you may find some in a salvage yard. The complete connector is available as a repair kit from GM or Delco.

Thanks for the reply, I meant the one that holds the injector in the rail, not the electrical conn. I know you don't really need them, but it makes me feel better knowing all of the injector's are set properly.(I think I am to much of a perfectionist

91wtROH17's - What exactly do you mean when you talk about the clicking the injectors make? I'm trying to troubleshoot something and that sounds framiliar.

Maybe I can answer for him. All the injectors should make a slight "clicking" sound while the motor is running. You can feel them or better yet would be to use a stethoscope(sp) or hold a long screwdriver against em and hold it to your ear. They all should be doing it.

LOL, No way would I pull it apart just for that!! The motor is being rebuilt soon, so I just want the clip for reassembly.
I think I can't feel the clicking because the injector is not high enough in the rail. Atleast that what my mechanic buddy tell's me, but he said that it was no big deal.

That sounds like the type of shop I would stay away from. Good thing they didnt lose the fuel rail! They should have replaced it with the proper part and not have used bailing wire to hold it in place.I would have never accepted that type of shoddy workmanship. They lost it, Demand they replace it!

those little pieces of crap! i destroyed four of them, just tyring to figure out how they came out of the fuel rail!
Then, silly me, i figure some local parts store would stock them. GUESS AGAIN!
and GM wanted $6.50 a PIECE for them!!! For a little piece of metal smaller than my pinky finger! Arggg.
After 3 days of running around, i finnaly gave up and fabricated my own.
Its just a small snap ring, with the insides filed off and a a little shorter. works great!

Ya, I was not happy with the shop, but I did not notice it was gone until 2 week's later when I took it all apart again to change the injector's. They also scratched up the runner's real good aswell!!! Pi**** me off because it took me forever to polish them in the first place.
