Air snorkel doesn't sit snug

Hey,
I recently put an LT1 intake on my L98 engine. The intake sits lower than the TPI, so now the air filter lid doesn't sit like it used to. There is space between the fan shroud and the lid. Will this effect anything?

Thanks in advance.

If unfiltered air can still not get in I wouldn't worry about it.

That is definitely one big downfall of the LT1 intake when used on a Camaro with the stock air filter housing. Even if it isnt leaking, it seems to look totally rigged and if it were my car I would consider a different air intake set up.
Just my opinion!
