How do i go about deleteing the EGR on my 91' LB9 GTA T/A?
How do i keep the codes from comming on?
Where do i get a block off plate or what does it look like to make 1

You can yank the EGR valve and build your own block off plate or order one online.
TPIS might have one.
I'm not sure.
You can then burn a new PROM to eliminate the EGR crap OR you can leave the EGR solenoid connected and block off the vacuum line running from the EGR valve to the solenoid.
I used some black RTV to block the vacuum line and had no problems.

I thought everyone was in agreement here that it will not help horsepower at all???? Something like the EGR is bypassed at full throttle so no gain is made. And it helps gas mileage when hooked up, I believe...

I've got one of those Superram things sitting on my engine and it's a pain in the *** to remove the plenum half the time.
Removing my EGR was a good idea as far as I was concerned - one less thing to break and replace.
As far as performance - I don't know.
I've started to burn PROMs and I haven't noticed my lack of EGR hurting me.

You most likely wont gain any power from it, but what you will do is free up clutter under the hood and reduce carbon buildup inside your engine. You must have it removed in the chip.

so you're telling me that all that black coating inside the plenum and runners on a tpi system with egr is from the egr....correct?
just how clean would it be if the egr was not used??

Just to add a little tid-bit of info.... in addition to what everybody else has wrote... Im pretty sure that an EGR Valve reduces engine temperatures slightly....

if egr is not working(ie all hooked up but no egr passages in heads) and egr is not deleted in the prom what effect will this have on performance other than a stupid check engine light?

I believe....dont quote me on this....that you've have a tad more horsepower (basically .000000003 horses lol) BUT more importantly Im pretty sure that you wont get a check engine light as long as your EGR valve is mechanical not electronic. Again dont quote me on this.. Im due for inspection this month and you reminded me that I still have to reconnect my EGR valve. The car accelerates like crap with the EGR valve connected.Originally posted by tojan19
