Manifolds

I am converting a TBI truck to a 7730 TPI based system. I want to use a single plane carb style manifold like edelbrock and holley use on their MPFI systems. I have been unable to find a manifold, TB, injector, rail setup. What are my options here, I have found one place online that can convert a single plane carb mainfold but it is very expensive, are their any low cost options?

You could modify the manifold yourself, if you have the equipment. Many places sell the weld on bung for the injector. I have never seen any ads for modified carb style intakes for sale, but I am not much of a web crawler.

You could contact some one like Fuel Injection Specialties and see what they have, the do lots of custom application FI stuff. You could even try Holley or Edelbrock and see if they sell the manifolds seperately. You would need the fuel rails that are made for it, or you would need to get some custom ones made.

Sorry to not be more helpful...

You can get a natural finish Stealth Ram intake and manifold for around $350 at Summit. That's not too bad considering what you're getting.

Stealth Ram is 350+180 for the fuel rail, their powerpack which includes all the sensors and TB is $1800 (no ECM or harness!.)

I looking at buying a used LT1 or TPI fuel rail and modifying a single plane intake to accept it, could probably do that for $250. I think there is an adapter to put a TPI TB in the place of the carb.

I just saw the Stealth Ram plenum, runners, and intake manifold for around $350 in the Summit catalog. I'll get the part number later. They said you can reuse the stock throttle body and fuel rails along with whatever else you need.

the SUMMIT RACING adds WRONG youll need to buy a HOLLEY STEALTH RAM fuel rail kit that costs between $180 and $225 call HOLLEY and verifiy if you want but you CAN NOT USE STANDARD CHEVY TPI,FUEL RAILS OR PRESSURE REGULATOR
read this
http://www.thunderracing.com/index.c...yid=1125#P2944
b> just some info! that HOLLEY STEALTH RAM SUMMIT ADVERTIZES DOES NOT INCLUDE ANYTHING BUT THE BASE AND PLENUM(NO FUEL RAILS/PRESSURE REGLATOR)
call summit, tech support or better yet HOLLEY tech support................(270) 781-9741
they (summit) wrote the advertizing copy.... incorrectly, you will require IN ADDITION TO THE BASE INTAKE FOR $299 PLUS SHIIPPING THE fuel rail kit # 534185 that costs $ 173.69 additional from summit.....IF YOU GO THAT ROUTE and the stock chevy fuel rails and fuel pressure regulator will not fit, the HOLLEY STEALTH RAM and keep firmly in mind the standard plenum will not fit under the stock corvette hood. If you look closely at the upper right corner picture in that catalog on page 33 of the complete stealth ram in the summit catalog, youll notice the fuel rails are totally differant than the stock chevy fuel rails and FYI, the picture even has them installed swapped end for end in the catalog, the correctly set up fuel feed starts on the pass side rear and the bye-pass line hooks to the drivers side across the front under the throttle body then feeds down the drivers side fuel rail to the rear, the cross-over line is properly mounted on the front between the fuel rails, not as its shown in the catalog.
,look closely http://diabolicalperformance.com/
HAS IT CORRECTLY MOUNTED WITH THE CORRECT FUEL RAILS

http://www.fasterdeals.com/garageindex.html
the part number for the HOLLEY ADJUSTABLE PRESSURE REGULATOR FUEL RAIL KIT IS 534-186, summit charges $215.39 for that adjustable regulator fuel rail kit so youll have $500 plus in an intake that won,t fit the corvette without a hood scoop

Grumpyvette is absolutly right. I have the HSR w/ AFPR fuel rail kit. I am also in the process of rebuilding my engine. Just for fun I wanted to see how much of a difference there is between the fuel rails, and I see pretty big differences. First, the stock rail uses a hold down that attaches vertically, the HSR uses horizontal attachments. And also the stock rails won't clear around the base of the HSR's large tunnel ports. The overall shape of the rails is totally different as well. THe only similarity is of course where the injectors attach...
