do i need more fuel
do i need more fuel
I have a 1987 iroc with a 305 tpi, i found a 350 tpi motor out of a another 1987 iroc that was totaled, so i rebulit the 350 and put a comp .500 lift roller cam inside and used the 305 tpi system, the motor seems like it should be alot more powerful than what it is now. Do you think it is because the engine is only getting enouph fuel for a 305 and if I added a bigger fuel pump, 24lb injectors, and a adjustable fuel pressure regualtor would that give me alot more power, Oh and if you add a aftermarket cam to a tpi engine is more fuel needed to get all the power out of the cam.
Thanks alot for the help.

This has been covered a few times, might want to check the Tech Articles and/or the Motor Swap forum for more details.
The knock sensor should be changed to a 350 part#, they're tuned to listen for specific frequencies that either the 305 or 350 will generate during knock.
You'll want, at a minimum, a stock 350 MEMCAL and 22# injectors so things are matched up. Change both, the 350 software is calibrated for that size injector.
Ideally, you'd go with 22 or 24# injectors and burn your own PROMs as described in the article in the Tech Articles section...getting things right on the money. Accel makes 21, 23, and 24# injectors but some people here have had trouble w/ them leaking. Ford Motorsports sells 24# (really 25.x# at our operating pressure) for same ~$200 price tag as the Accel pieces, and they have a good reputation.
