car misses and SES light flashes intermittently

this is a new problem popping up. i am not sure what it is but i could use a direction to go in. when driving normally, the car will occasionally miss and the SES light will flash when it does. there appears to be no pattern, although the first time i really noticed it bad was today when it was raining. it doesnt do it over bumps/etc etc. it doesnt stall the car, but it is annoying and obviously something is not right.

any help would be appreciated!

car:
1989 TA
5-speed (conversion)
305 TPI w/cam

Usually means you're losing ignition pulses...I'd first test out the PickUp coil, then have the module tested.

FWIW, I have seen this a few times, in both cases it was the PU coil.

Just in case you haven't pulled codes before, look here:

https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...ighlight=codes

Vader's reply in the above thread has all the info you'll to pull them.

Good Luck!

Check to make sure the memcal is properly seated and that the ECM connections are nice and tight.
