Vats simulator wiring question.

I am installing a used TPI system with a painless wiring harness into my 350 powered 1988 mazda rx7. The TPI was from a 90 Vette origionallly, and was swapped into a Jeep and run for a few years. I just recently bought it and polished it up.

Everything has gone smoothly so far, except for the wiring of the little black vats box. There are three wires on it. I know that one is supposed to attach to the purple wire on the harness, but which one? And what do the other two go to? I hate to just hook them up to power and ground and fry something. I had to get the wiring instructions from the Painless website, and have read the whole website several times now. I used the search function, but found nothing on the forum.

I will attach a pic of the module in question.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Also, does the fuel pump relay turn the fuel pump on and off as needed, or does it just leave it running? I already have the pump wired from my previous setup, and it would be nice if i didnt have to change it.

I just put a '92 computer onto my 350 TPI in my '87 Monte Carlo SS. I didn't even need that vats module and also since I don't have the ignition hardware and matching coded key, I had a friend burn me a new chip with VATS disabled...

I wish i had a friend that could "just burn me a chip". But that is not a feesable option for me.

Unless there is someone here from the Memphis area that does PROM burning.

I spoke with Painless Performance, and the RED wire goes to a 5v source (pulled from the TPS), the BLACK wire is ground, and the GREY wire goes to the vats wire ion the harness.

Thanks for the replies.......

I was just checking out your site. You have to put more pictures of your swap up. I would love to see it...
