Engine: TPI 350...Soon to be a 383
Transmission: 700r4
Axle/Gears: Borg Warner
Anyone know?
What should an 89 350 TPI idle at?
Also, what would cause it to idle from 400 rpm to 1000 rpm then back down....over and over and over......in park, neutral and in gear when stopped at a light ?
TPS?Vaccum leak?Small animals living in the exhaust?

Should idle around 700-750.
Check TPS voltage, if okay (.54v +/- .06 or so). If okay, then unplug IAC connector, see if it still surges.
If it's never been done...you may want to pull the get a gasket set for the TB, pull it apart and clean all passages, etc, with carb cleaner.
There's other issues that cause a surge, but start with the TPS, IAC and TB first.
