TPI conversion question

IS a L69 and a 305 TPI BASICALLY the same, ie, cam, etc etc, minus the tpi? I think my uncle obtained a 305 TPI setup, and was wondering if there would be any noticeable gains in hp/torque/gas mileage. Would it hook up though?

Yeah, it should hook up just fine, as long as you have all of the parts. You'll see a torque increase for sure with TPI, and this means better mileage more than likely. Do it right and adjust it correctly.

It should work. There is an early and late style bolt pattern for where the intake bolts to the head. Make sure your intake matches the head. Other than that, get a ECM and wiring harness to go with it and why not put in a little cam?
