I posted this in the cooling board, but got no response. All I need to know is if the temp. sending unit is the same part as the fan switch (the two on opposite heads). I bought what the computer called "switch/sending unit". But it doesn't look like the one on my drivers' side head. It has a different style connection, that looks like a fan switch. If I can make a connector to fit will this work?
Thanks for any help.

They are different types of units. The fan switch is an ON/OFF temperature switch and is located on the pass. side head. It is used to control the cooling fan and is preset to a specific temperature. The sending unit is a variable resistor that sends a variable voltage to the temperature gauge on the dash. This is the one located on the driver side head.
When you buy one specify either the "Fan Switch" or the "Temperature Sending Unit". These two are not interchangeable.

Thanks, that is what I needed to know.
