Tpi Swap
hey guys, well i just finished putting in a 1969 327 bored .030 over in my 87 GTA, i used the stock L98 heads and the stock tuned port system, i just added an air foiland an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, any ways i'm getting the headers in a few days and i'm gonna order a Holley stealth ram in the next few weeks. well this is my problem, i'm using a hyraulic cam the specs are 477\480 lift and 268\280 duration with 110 degree lobe seperation its a comp cams 12-242-2 or XE268h-10 and the engine is surging more than it should, and also its eating up gas i'm probably getting around 10 miles to the gallon, i was told i need a custom chip for the tuned port computer. any one who has any idea of what i may need please tell me, or if any one knows a good place to get a chip please tell me also i would like some suggestions on how many psi i should put the regulator to, any with experiance with this kind of swap or anyone who knows anything about tuned ports please help me out.
This is just a guess, but you might contact Ed Wright at www.fastchip.com and see if they can burn a PROM for your application. I haven't experienced his work firsthand (yet), but he does high-quality work from what I've read on the boards. HTH.
Anyone else who knows that I'm wrong on this, feel free to correct me without flames, please.
