Port lower intake or not...

While gasket matching my entire intake, i noticed the stock tpi gaskets leave no room to port the lower runner to base. The gaskets overlap into the port a little. There is a hump right behind the gasket, that brings the base even in diameter to the gasket. Should i even mess with it or leave it stock? It seems that if i take out that little hump and grind it smoth i will make more turbulence. Any ideas?

Well yeah, why not? Try to port as much as you can... you have it out, at least clean it up. Port the runner intake tubes and then the intake runners leading to the head.

If i port it out, it will leave a bigger dead area behind where the gasket contacts the base. Also, when i say hump, i mean how the port on the base is 1/8" wider that the gasket for the first 1/4" into the base, then it shrinks all the way around to the diameter of the gasket port. It seems anything i do to port it will only make the dead area larger. What did all you guys out there do that didnt get the cut-to-fit gaskets?
