MAF GTA runs like crap

I built a motor for my car and I can't get it to run for crap, it starts right up, but it won't idle, in fact it shuts off unless I keep my foot on the gas...I basically rigged it up like you would see a TPI if it was on a street rod. I have no EGR hooked up, no vacuum canister. I put plugs on the vacuum ports on the plenum. Could this be a vacuum problem or possibly an injector problem? ANy advice is appreciated. I'm just getting real mad, soon feel like converting to carb, or selling the F%^&in thing

Sounds like a bad vacuum leak. Are you using aftermarket intake runners???? If so, it's probably a vacuum leak between the runners and the plenum or intake..... Use a stethoscope to listen for the leak....

So it isn't throwing a code at all? It should as the EGR isn't hooked up...also, keep in mind that the street rod tpi setup usually has a Prom burnt to accomodate no emissions, etc.

You can actually hear vacuum leaks with a stethoscope? I never have.

I spray carb cleaner all over wehn im looking for a vacuum leak. when you spray over the leak, the motor will rev up.

Isnt "vacuum leak" funny? shouldnt it be an "Air leak" into the vacuum??
