ok guys i have an 85 z28 with the 305tpi 700r4 combo. 90% of the time i go to start ti and i hit the key and it fires right up and runs like a dream. the other 10% it starts up and idles at about 500rpm or lower and quits. then after it quitsand restart it u have to keep your foot on the gas to keep it alive. what could the prob be? the thing is it sat outside a womans house for about 3 years without being started or anything and i just bought it from her. all i have done to it is an oil change and roughly checked it over since i bought it. do u think if i did a complete tune up that would solve the prob? its not on the road right now because its going to be my winter project

 

I'd at least do a complete tune up and replace the fuel filter. Also there was a service bulliten on the 85 prom chips, they had to be repalced for a multitude of problems.
