Knock Sensor
Ok, I'm right in the middle of swapping a TPI onto my 92 RS tbi car. I was fortunate enough to pick up a wrecked (but running) 92 z28 as a donor, so I had every part I need. My question is this, I know the knock sensor needs to be changed cuz the tbi sensor is different. Where is the sensor located? I got three IDENTICAL connectors on the harness. One on the drivers side of the block, and two on the passenger. There are three similar looking sensors too. One on each cylinder head, and one on the passenger side of the block, above the oil pan. Does this thing have three knock sensors? I thought only one. If there is only one knock sensor, what the hell ore those other two? Any help much appreciated.

The other two are coolant sensors, pass head for fan and driver head for dash gauge.

Thats what I thought. Thanx for the quick reply. Any idea what those sensors in the heads are? I've never really noticed them or paid much attention to them until now.

Just don't switch the Knock sensor connector and temp sensor connector.. throws a SES light.. the knock sensor connctor should only read like 5 volts.. the other will read 12 i think..

Thanks for the info. The coolant sensor is a bit crispy after 108000 miles so close to a manifold, so I think I can tell the difference. But I'll hook up the voltmeter before I connect them.
