Best Bang for Buck combo
CAr is an 88 L98, with shorty headers, no cat, and 3" cat back.
For about the same price, I can get either;
Accel super Ram, 52mm BBK Throttle Body, adjustable regulator, Have stock heads ported
or
Edelbrock Performer centerbolt heads, and have stock TPI upper and lower ported. and 1.6 rooler tip rockers
Which would I be better off getting? If I got the Edelbrock heads, I would probably upgreade to a Hooley Stelth ram in the future.

Well, you would want good flowing heads and cam if you were to go with a Superram, so I would get heads and cam first, and then upgrade your intake later. Did you think of trying the LT1 intake route and possibally getting it all done at the same time??? How extensive are you planning on porting the stock heads??..Cam with that also???
Problem is mods are like a chain reaction... You buy one mod and then need 2 others to support it.. Cai, fuel pumps, tune ect.

Ok - b/w those two paths I would go with the second. Edelbrock heads, 1.6 RR's, and some essential work on the TPI will see you great gains. I would say upwards of 75hp/75tq easy with some basic tuning.
The first path is good, but the SuperRam is SuperExpensive, and then you got the stocker heads and cam holding you waaay back.

i think you would need to do a retrofit on the cam to hydro roller and you can pick up a used 219/ZZ9/ZZ409 cam for around 200 bucks. when doing your research ask what you would need for a 85-86 vette to run a hydro roller cam and i think them model years were the same exact L98 motor in the FBods. my friend is doing this now with aftermarket heads. a set of 1.5 or 1.6 RR's for about 200 or so and a set of Roller lifters for 150 or so last i looked. that thing would scream and i'd be willing to bet you'd add an extra 100+ HP easy. we are guessing my friends 86 vette will be down in the low low 12's or high 11's with these mods. so on an FBody i would say low to mid 12's.
but thats just what i would do

go this route and screw your heads wasting money in getting them redone. look on some corvette forums like www.corvetteforum.com or www.corvetteactioncenter.com and look for a set of 87-91 aluminum heads for about the same price you would spend getting yours redone. i've seen these heads as low as 400 bucks. stock flow on these heads are pretty good.
A SUperram would be overkill on a stock set of Vette heads.
