Anyone ever use an auto chip in a manual

Just curious, i did a search already, came up with a few answers but would like more indept info. Anyone ever use a prom chip out of an automatic car and put it in thier manual? Did the car run okay or did it end up running strange?. I am running an auto chip in my manual and i don't know if i don't have something set up right or it's just the chip making it run kind of funny.

mine ran fine for over a year like that, others have complained about stalling when stopping, high/ low idle ect. I think if it runs right in the first place there should be no problem.

Mine idles (1200 rpm's) high when i when i come to a dead stop or push the clutch in, i have crack the throttle and then it will drop to like 800 rpms, the shift light is constantly on, but i noticed tonight if i am like moving, push the clutch in and gas it up, the shift light goes off and then back on everytime i do that, car smells a little lean and surges from time to time too, anyone else have these kind of problems?

my personal conclusion from what ive gathered around here is that it depends alot on how you drive.

im going to be trying to run a T56 behind my autoL03 for a couple months until i get the chassis and everything sorted for the 400....

i hope mine runs great.. but if not, i'll run a T5 prom..

To answer this shortly. Yes.

I put a t-5 behind my l98 350 about 6 months ago, I ran on the stock chip for about a month and had every problem you have described in the quote. The IAC numbers need to be changed (the high idle proble your having). As for the cracking the throttle to get it to idle down, i'm still having that problem and working on that right now. As for the shift light, I have no clue because mine has never come on, and im not sure if its even wired up. As for the car running lean and surging, that is going to be due to the differences between a torque converter and a clutch, so that requires a little tuning.

Best bet would to find someone locally who can help you program a chip, or buy all the stuff and start playing with it. The search option is your friend
