Will the SLP 25lbhr injectors work on a stock TPI???

Just wondering if the injectors SLP has for $100 will work on my buddies stock TPI. I know eventually it will need a chip, but this would be a great buy considering they want almost $100 to rebuild his old ones. Would he need an AFPR to make them work....or will the foul out the plugs too bad with no tuning? Thanks in advance.

Been asked and answered already. They fit, but have no provisions for the little aluminum clips that hold them into the fuel rail. Your decision whether you think those are necessary. They flow more than 22# injectors that come on 350 TPI, and way more than 19# injectors that come on 305 TPI.

To make them work right, a chip modification to set the injector flow rate to accurately match the new injectors is needed.

so, what happens if you don't modify the chip to set the injector flow rate, just put em in and go??

Your car will run very rich. An AFPR will help but you are best off with a custom PROM.

KYL98,
This may be a bit off-topic, but I am using Accel 24# fuel injectors on my 89 350 TPI and they work fine. I've had them on the car for about 3 years now. No aftermarket chip - No AFPR - Not running rich. They do cost more... about $230 for all 8. I'm not pushing Accel injectors - I just thought this info might help you.

Good luck.

I didnt think there was a performance gain with larger injectors unless you had a considerably modded engine? (power adder or heavy N/A mods)

Please correct me if im wrong, i was considering 24# or 25# injectors but i decided against it....

Well...the only reason I was considering it was because it is a GREAT deal. For a $100 I can get what 19lb should cost.......plus I wouldnt have to change them down the road if I do some mods........

There is no performance gain from going with larger injectors on a near stock motor. If you see an improvement it is because your old ones needed to be replaced
