Cany anyone help me with MSD 6AL ignition and what I need?

Hopefully I'll be coming into some money in the near future, and I thought I'd sort this out now... I'm planning on MSD 6AL ignition, superconductor wires, cap/rotor/coil. I have an '87 LB9. I'm pretty sure there's a 20-30$ kit needed for our coil or something for this kit right? Does anyone have the part # for it? Also, what are the best superconductor wires to get for my car, it still has stock manifolds... I'd want the straight boots right? If anyone could help me out with some part numbers or any little things I'll need that I'm missing, it would be greatly appreciated...

It's called a cap-adapt from MSD.
You need an external coil like a blaster from MSD.
You will need a low resistance bushing to go in the top of your cap so the current from the msd will not melt it.

"low resistance bushing to go in the top of your cap so the current from the msd will not melt it," could someone elaborate on this. I've had that setup for ages and never experienced any melting. How necessary is this resistance bushing and does it provide any other benefits?

Well you dont need any thpe of kit for you coil as it should all come together. You should have an external coil like on my car. I have the MSD Blaster II and MSD wires on, but im going to go with the 6A. You should call up MSD and ask what you need. Maybe more people will come in here and tell you what they used.

I have the 6A in my vette and got Crane HI-6 for my Formula because it came with a free coil, it was a universal on but you can get a whole kit:

The crane unit is way smaller, I have some comparison pics at home if you want me to e-mail em to ya.

I got mine from Summit a few years ago. I called them up & got the adapter harness with MSD 6. It just plugs the GM coil or the MSD replacent coil.
