Hello, and please check my sanity(long)

Hello to all.

I'm new to the whole tech forum thing, but I like it so far. As far as cars go I have a bone stock 89 RS. I just bought a POS 85 TA that is seriously modified 383 that looks mean as all get out....but of course doesn't start.. Of course for $500 dollars for the whole deal, I'll take my chances I have a few questions regaurding 383 compatibilty w/fi
First of all I don't know what is in this motor yet I'm still trying to track down the builder. That and I don't have a garge so I've yet to tear into it.
My objectives are to build a stout short block for a redline around 7 grand. Dump the TBI on the car switch to stealth ram/Commander950 set up (I'm a computer technician in the navy bigger computers don't scare me) From what I was told this engine is running 11:1 on aluminum heads, and ran fine on pump gas. Unconfirmed of course. I want horse power to peak at 6500 RPM. So here is my question this will be the first build up off this scale that I have done. What sort of duration cam would I need w/114* lobe separtion. My other cars always had 112's or a 110 I found in an old 73. I'm not sure how it will all stack up. I know hat is involved in the TPI(roughly) conversion. Also what would be a good injector/Fuel pump/ Fuel pressure combo. I'm pretty sure the motor will be out of the range of the stock TPI fuel system.
Thanks for any input. I already searched for the cam question and didn't find any thing that I could use.

I am soooo focking confused.

Cam... Look at the LPE219. Seems to be a pretty popular cam that makes decent power. You could also toss around the idea of an LT4 hot cam due to you going to a stealth ram. With the 950 you have the ability to tune on the fly so thats good. As for fuel system, you should get a regulator with a HSR kit, and also a fuel pump like the Walbro(sp?) one.
