Replacing Dipstick Tube

Mine was badly rusted, how can I get it out off the blck? I have been soaking it for 2 days with PB Blaster. I thought about heating it up with a small torch.

I ordered a chrome one from Jeg's. I told them it was an 88 TPI Camaro. The one they sent me says 82-85 Camaro. Will it be the same?

You should be able to just pull it out. Granted, it doesn't just slide out, you have to pull very HARD. The dipstick you got from Jeg's will NOT work. On 82-85's the dipstick is on the driver side.

Where can I get the right one? Dealer? I really don't care if it is chrome.

Original one is available at the dealer. Lokar makes billet/stainless one too. Make sure you get for 86 & up one piece rear main seal block.

If you are just looking for a tube it should be about $12 from the dealer. Another $8 if you need the dipstick itself.

Re: Replacing Dipstick Tube

Does anyone know the OEM part number? I can't find it on one of those online parts catalogs. I bought one of those Spectre pieces of junk and it doesn't fit. I can't even force it in.
