TPI Mods - Where to start?

Where would I start? Intake itself? Runners? Also, what brands are reccomended? I've heard alot about porting and siamesing, but what is it exactly, is it easy to do, what will I need? Any risks?

The engine is a base Jasper 350 that replaced my beat 305. It was put under my exisiting TPI intake with 24lb injectors, and the chip was replaced. I am not going radiacal here, not yet at least.

So what is a good place to start? What would be first thing to buy/do? Money is tight now, but once the holiday is over I should have some cash saved to play.

Sorry if these questions have been asked a million times before.

Well -
porting is removing extra material (metal usually)
siamesing is turning two seperate spaces into one

The TPI long tube runner intake has three major components:
upper plenum
runners
lower plenum

The upper plenum has the throttle bore (the "mouth"), and the runner entries. Both the throttle bore and runner entries can be enlarged to flow more air. Also, the area right behind the throttle bore can be cleaned up a lot by eliminating the EGR plates.

The stock runners can be port matched to the plenum (smooths transition areas where air goes from plenum into the runners)
Aftermarket runners can be siamesed, but stock runners cannot without fabrication. Also, the stock runners can be port matched to the lower plenum.

The lower plenum can be ported and siamesed to a certain extent - but not nearly as much as an aftermarket lower plenum.

If you want to do this stuff yourself you will need a dremel tool, a lot of grinder bits, and many hours of time and patience. If you want a shop to do this stuff you'll need about five hundred dollars minimum, one thousand dollars maximum. This includes new gaskets and whatnot.

A fully worked stock TPI setup can see some great gains! However, a fully worked aftermarket setup would see more. Substantially more.

Some aftermarket stuff: This stuff can be worked on more than stock stuff. Much more!

upper plenum - leave it alone, it is fine, and porting it out is about all that needs to be done.

runners - edelbrock, arizona speed & marine, slp

lower plenum - edelbrock, accell, TPiS

Finally - DO A SEARCH!!!!!!!!
