Re: 93 LT1 cam
Everything will work out fine if you use the cam, i think that the only thing you will have to do is have the dowl pin pressed into the cam or have a new dowl pin made, the reason for this is because the dowl pin will hit the timing cover when installing the cover, i have the LT4 hot cam in my car and that was the only problem that i ran into on the switch over. i took the cam to a engine shop, dropped it off and had it back the next day, wish you the best of luck.

irocing,
I am considering using the LT4 "hot" cam in my MAP TPI set-up and was wondering how your computer put up with the much higher duration and lift?

The reason that my computer can handle the difference in the cam size is because my computer was all redone by Thompson Racing down by where I live, If I tried to put the cam in on a stock motor the thing wouldn't even idle. That is a problem that you are going to run into if you try it on a stock computer. The LT4 hot cam is a sweet cam and i would highly recommend it before the LT1 cam, if you check e bay you can find a complete kit for the LT4 hot cam that comes with roller rockers, springs, locks and retainers, and then of course the cam, I think that I only payed $500.00 for the complete kit which I think is a decent price for everything that you need to get started, but if you plan on doing that you are going to have to have the spring seats ground down and made to fit the springs, and the other thing that will have to be done is that you have to have the dowl pin pressed in. If you have any other questions just let me know, I went through all the problems that came with the kit and if I can make someone else's life easier I will, keep us informed with what you do!!!!!!!!!
