edelbrock intake question..

I got a question on the edelbrock intake manifold. Is it stock size off the bat? Do I have to port it out just to get it bigger than stock? and if so then how the hell do I port it? how far in do I have to port it to get any effect?

the edelbrock hi flo intake is less restrictive then a stock tpi intake base , but it does have alot more meat on it so you can do alot of porting to it if you wanted too.

ok so unported how much better is it than a basic TPI intake?

I understand porting will have to be done to take advantage of it, but I am just wondering if the runner port size if bigger "like the Big mouth base"

maybe this will help you out-

stock base-
1.470 round entry
1.960 x 1.200 exit

TPIS/ Edelbrock high-flo/Accel base- all the same
1.750 round entry
2.090 x 1.280 exit.

edelbrock makes the TPIS big mouth , the only difference is TPIS port matches it.
