Do i have dual CATS?
hi, i just won the bid for a 1989 iroc camaro on ebay. it is equiped with the 350 motor and the stock trans. i was wondering how i can tell if i have the dual catalitic converters (sorry for spelling i am in a hurry lol). i dont have the car yet, because i couldnt get it this weekend. is there anyway from the vin, will it tell there. thanks for your help, i am cant wait to be a proud camaro owner!!!!! albert III

If its a single cat, then you're cursed with the dreaded 2.77 9-bolt rear end.
Does it have t-tops? If so, then you know its a single cat car, as well.

I've seen plenty of ttop cars with dual cats.
Don't worry about the 9bolt. It's a good rear, but the 2.77's will suck. A good majority of the L98 cars came with 10 bolts anyway, so don't worry about it until you get the car and find out what you've got.

I have a 89 iroc that has t-tops and had a 2.77 rear and came with single cats. Swapped the rear for $100 to a 3.27 9 bolt posi.
There itsn't that much a difference at only 10hp. between single and duel cats.
