Need help with running lean.

After installing my headers, ive discovered that my car is running lean. The plus were almost new looking they were so white so i retarded the timing from 8* back to 6* stock timing and raised the fuel pressure to 50. Its still lean. Half of the plug is tan and the other part white. I'm almost positive im running lean because i took the screens out of my Maf and cut the fins out of it too. How can i get the correct fuel back into the cylinders? What is the max fuel pressure i could run? Right now at 50 psi with the vacuum line disconnected it has around 40 psi with the line hooked up. My gas mileage really sucks already so raising the fp some more would surely kill it. Anyone have any suggestions besides a new maf. Thanks in advance.
Scott

When checking and setting fuel pressure, it is done with the vacuum line disconnected. You should have 45 lbs. pressure with the vacuum disconnected.

Also, retarding the timing will produce more heat in the exhaust.

Raise FP up to 45-46 lbs. and advance the timing to 8-10 degs advance.

Are you checking the timing with the EST wire disconnected?

I know to check and set the fuel pressure with the vacuum disconnected. Right now its set at 50psi with the vacuum disconnected. Timing is set at 6* btdc in drive and the plugs are still white. I thought when they looked like that it was from too much advanced timing. They look like there on the brink of detonation.

When you says "Have you checked the injectors and their fuses" are you talking about the fuse under the dash or are there other fuses for the injectors too? Do you think it may be the fuel filter (Don't know when it was changed last), because I said before I had it started, but had to keep giving it gas to stay started but now theres nothing just turns over.
