difference between 87 and post 87 L98's
is the only difference the Serpentine setup? if no what else is different, other than cam, etc... not performance wise is basically what i mean. i know that the cams changed over the years. also what is the problem with the non serp setup on the 87's? i ask because i am looking at a 87 Formula 350 and haven't decided if i want to buy it or not.

Well all I can remember off the top of my head is starting in 89 they got revised "multec" injectors and removed the cold start injector, then in 90 they got new lighter pistons (and a 5hp increase) and I think 90's also went to a map system over the maf setup. Also like you already mentioned the cams changed also.
If I can think of anything else I'll edit this post with it.
If the price is right, I'd be happy with a 87
