Tunning The computer 305TPI
Tunning The computer 305TPI
I've never messed with the computer on the TPI and have no ideal what software/hardware I would need in order to tune my 1991 Z28 305 TPI or if it even needs it.
Its got a mild crane cam, bored. 30 over, headers, MSD ignition, 2500 stall. All this has been done to the motor and the computer is stock. It seems as if its running to rich cause you can smell gas real bad kinda like its fludded or loading up. I would assume the computer would have to be tuned since all thats been done to it and its still set to stock 305. Someone told me that you have to manauly program or have someone program the computer for the 91 camaro's. I havent been able to find someone in the Springfield, Missouri area that can do it.
What all would I need in order to do it myself? I've got the laptop. I'm going to check the timing on the car I thought maybe that might be off. It just seems like the car doesnt run like it should.
Or I would pay someone to do this if they know how to and are close to Springfield, Missouri?
Thanks
Dustin

You may want to browse around the DIY Prom board. There is a sticky at the top that does a good job of explaining what you need.
