hey, can someone tell me where this connects to and what it is(knock sensor???) cause i'm having cooling problems.

Transmission: 700R4
That probably goes to the fan switch mounted on the right hand side of the engine. You should have two units there that use a connector like that, the fan switch and the knock sensor. The knock sensor is mounted just forward of the starter and the fan switch is mounted above the starter between #6 & #8 spark plug. The fan switch has a black wire and the knock sensor has a white wire.
