88 tpi Cracked flywheel =knocking motor

does any one know what causes your fly wheel to get cracked?? is it high rpm ? or is the stock flywheel not heavy duty enough for high rpm use??? I have a 383 stroker motor that was internally balanced. do i replace it with a 350 cub. fly wheel or a 400 cub. flywheel?

Hello,
I would recomend an SFI approved flywheel. On a modifed moter I would not use a stock fly wheel. have the flywheel balanced to you engine, and use good boolts like ARP. Also don't forget the lock tite. one more thing that I can think of is to check out the converter. Dose it fit in the crankshaft properly or not? Just a few ideas to check on. I almost forgot what is kyour stall speed. hard launches tear things up.

later and
