Well I have just found out 3 of my injecters are about shot, so now I have the 24 lb/hr fords on the way with a bbk AFPR from summit. Now I know that they are bigger than the stock ones so it may run rich. I want like to get all the stuff to program the prom but I just put out alot of money for my car so, how can I get around not haveing a chip? I have edelbrock heads, msd ignition, headers, and a cam (just don't know the specs because the guy I bought it from lost the cam card). Thanks

well, I guess you could stick in the injectors and run it as-is, and it shouldn't hurt anything.
But you definetly need to get a new PROM chip. With your mods, you could see probably >20hp increase just from the chip

I just installed the same injectors in my car and it's completely stock and I'm not haveing any problems. I would suggest however to lower your fuel pressure to 39lbs. till you can get a chip burnt. I'm still useing the stock FPR and will upgrade to an adjustable unit, burnt chip when money allows but rite now my injectors are not causeing me any problems and I haven't noticed any increase in fuel consumption.

1st. if your injectors have 75,000 or more miles on them it's a good idea to replace them or have them cleaned, flowd.
The reason I new mine were bad was when I tried to start my car with it being at operateing temp it would turn over a bunch before it would finally start and when it did it would run sluggish at first like starting a carb'd car that has been flooded and I would get gas smoke out the tailpipes plus my gas mileage sucked.Replaced them and all that went away.

I tested the ohms and had anywhere from .003 to .017. called up rick at crunzinperformce and he told me that the coils inside were bad. that with my mpg and the bad idle. Which I have tried everything to fix but those. He said that it is not if they go bad but when. So I am hopeing this will make it all good

It depends on what you want to spend.
I'm running Ford Motorsport 24lbs and they will work up to 400HP.
Accells have mixed opinions around here. The biggest drawback is there price.I figure why spend twice as much for comparable injectors.Hell use that extra money for other mods, like an AFPR.
I managed to get a good deal on e-bay and got mine for $122.50.
Accells will cost you around $300.

Yes 24lbs. ones will work great with what your wanting to do with your car and they will support future mods at least till you do some big time modding.

Actually I think Ford Raceing,Ford Motorsport, and Ford SVO injectors are all the same.Mustang guys call them blue tops.
All the diff. pics of Ford 24lbs. injectors I've seen look the same.
Another option are The pink ones from Ford that they rate at 19lbs. but on a TPI setup there closer to 22lbs. and I think you can get them for around $100 bucks.Do a search,There's some guys useing them on this board and they seem to be happy with them.

Car will run with the 24 lb/hr injectors, but unless you drop FP or change fuel tables in prom, or both, it will run rich and lose throttle reponse.
I have them, I know.

Yes...AFPR is the abbreviation for Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator. It allows you to change the fuel pressure within a certain psi, which is dependant on the specific regulator.Originally posted by A88GTANotchback

hahah i new that man. i just wanted to know that i could do w/o the prom tuning if i got a afpr and injectors together.

Start your fuel pressure out at 39lbs. and go up if it even needs to. I think 39lbs. will be ideal with 24lb. injectors and stock prom.
Thats what I'm doing as soon as I get a AFPR.

thx man. ill get er done asap. sorry for jacking this thread. oh yeah and any recommendation on an afpr or any one does the same? i just hate doing things twice.
Holley seems to be the preferred brand cause it doesn't have a screw for adjustment. I got mine off ebay..yet to install it.

Yes in my county/town of 125K people I know of 3,my 88 a nice completely stock 92 and a ragged out 88.
In the last couple of years I've seen two showroom cond. 88-90 models go from showroom to raged out and then they dissappear and you never see them again, and they both had drivers under the age of 21.I had to go 5hrs. away to find mine.

I know of 3 around me, There is a turbo gta pace car up the road for sale for $18,000. There is only 30000 miles on it but I can't get it.

we have a couple of TTA's local and about 4 other GTA's plus mine. I think only 1 of the GTA's is in bad shape, the rest including mine are in mint condition
