I have to leave for a race in a few hours, and I think my injectors are leaking. It had a hard start every once in a while before, but today it got worse.

Anyways, will a leaky injector seriously hinder performance or blow up or something while I am driving, or is it just a hard start that I have to worry about?

 

my number 6 injector was leaking and the car barely ran. if it trully is leaking it should run like poop and your crankcase will have gas in it. Mine had about 2 gallons of fuel in the crankcase, luckily no internal engine damage.

 

Leaking injectors could burn up your cat, (if you have them). With the excess fuel burning even hotter within the cat and destroying the catalyst, then you have a whole new set of problems.

 

I had 4 leaky injectors and the car ran fine. Just started like ****.

The cat ended up taking a poo too.
