High Torque Starter for Offset Pattern?

High Torque Starter for Offset Pattern?

Does any company make a High Torque starter for the offset bolt pattern, my car came with only one pattern, and it is the offset one, and so i want to buy the high torque starters but i dont think anyone makes anyone for my car......

Do you want a full size or mini starter? I suggest you call summit racing. I'd be willing to bet they can get you one.

i want a mini starter, if you are willing to bet money on it then sure, cause i already called, lol they didnt seem to be able to help me. the guy i talked to didnt really know what he was talking about, im going to call tomorrow, i might have to get a full size one. i was looking to avoid the cone on the starter, but we'll see, i wasnt sure if someone could give me a part number...

when you call summit back pick option 4 (saying that you know a ext) then put in ext: 5852

he'll know what you're talking about.

your other option is to just drill the hole for the starter, and tap it.

its "external"... not going into the motor, so you dont have to worry about hurting anything.


then just get a regular mini starter, or a LT1 one.

well i do have a hole there, but its not tapped right, so thats why im looking for the offset pattern

what do you mean "not tapped right"?

wrong tap? you could always drill it larger and helicoil it.

yeah its not tapped in the right spot, its a little off like 1/8th of an inch...

TPi They do make a mini starter with the offsett pattern. I will get you the part #s but i have an option for you i have a practically new summit pn sum-g1665 i will sell for 50$ plus shipping. Worked great only 10 starts on fresh engine just want a little more room. part 3s are as follows Powermaster pwm-9200 199.95 summit sum-820323-os 229.95 or powermaster part # pwm-9512 219.95
Please note the starter i have for sale is full size and i have the shims and mounting bolts

The Tommy Johnson Jr Mini Starter is the one I am using on my 400...and it was $120 from them.

Do a search for it...others have used it with success.

GTA-are those part #'s the mini starters? because i have been having problems with other cones on the starter fitting in my bellhousing, no idea why. but anyways ill have to search for what i mainly need...
