Speed Dens on Early Plenum

Hey i've been lurking for a long time, looks like i'm gonna make a deal with a Thirdgen member for a TPI setup i have some questions first.

I've used the search and can't find the exact answer i need, trust me i've searched and gotten sidetracked and want SLP runners now but thats a different story.

The system is a pre 87, i know all i need to know about swapping to SD but... what needs to be done to the plenum, i know theres a threaded hole for the MAP to mount on the SD plenums but not on this MAF one.

Also what about the IAC passage in the pre 87 ?Thats the passage on the plenum where the TB mounts correct.
Does it have to be plugged for a SD system to work, will the pre87 throttle body still work correctly with a SD system, this is a hot rod setup, no emissions no cold start injector.

Thanks a lot guys, i'd tell you what its going in but i don't want my post deleted, only third gen allowed right !! Its still a CHEVY.

You will have to mount the map sensor on the firewall or somewhere close to the plenum. You can still use the IAC valve and the throttle body for the pre-87 etc. It will all work with SD.

I drilled my plenum and made two "L" brackets to mount the MAP.
(I wanted it in the 'stock' location)
You can do that or mount it somewhere else.
Actually in that location the schraeder valve on the fuel rail is a little hard to get to.

The throttle bidy WILL work fine. I'm running one on mine with SD.
(using the 727 weatherpack ECM)

You can plug the hole in the runner for the cold start injector with a small freeze plug. I forgot what size it is, but just go to a local auto parts store and find one that fits. After the plug is in, flip the runner over and seal the underside of the hole with some JB Weld.
