Newbie Buildup

Ok, sorry for the newbie post that keeps being covered a million times. I Just have a slightly different application. I am putting a TPI in my 91 K5 Blazer, converting to roller cam. The parts I have stockpiled already are as follows are: stock plenum, 22# injectors, accel base, accel high flow cast runners, 58mm tb (probably too big, but it came with the rest of the stuff!), and Trick Flow Kenny Duttweiller aluminum heads. I plan on adding Doug Thorley Try-Y headers as well. As you all probably guessed, This is going to end up being a cam question. Most of you guys are shooting for hight end horsepower, and that is what alot of the advise I find on here is about. Does anyone have an opinion on this setup and a recommendation for me? It is almost time to start this project and almost have all the parts I need, except that! Any opinions/help would be greatly appreciated!!!

welcome to the boards

as some will tell you

as others will tell you, this is a site for thirdgens, not blazers.

as I will tell you, search, not too long ago someone was asking about the same thing and there was a bit of a discussion before it got closed.

I figured this was the place to go for infor mation about TPI systems in general. Hey, a Chevy is a Chevy, right? People on the truck boards don't know much about them, and people on the car boards don't want to help. I think I remember That last discussion. And I know him from another board. A truck board. All we are lookig for is a little help with our own non car projects where you guys know more than we do. Not to start something that would cause a thread to get closed. If this is a problem here, where else would people be willing to help me?

I'm not trying to start anything

I ment no offense in my last post, I'm sorry if it sounded like that but someone would have said it eventually. seriously though, 3rdgen.org, and nethirgen.org, I go on those boards too and they will probabbly help, they aren't strictly third gen as here.

I understand. I didn't take offense to your post. I do, however, appreciate the other sites you posted. I will have to take a look at them after work! Sorry if I sounded a little frustrated as well. Not used to boards being so "territorial"

I know he has a Blazer......but............................
THIS board is the best one to get information from.
I'd ask here also. Heck, that's why I'm HERE!!!

These guys here do the REAL thing.
They fool with more diverse situations and find out what works to a much greater degree than any other forums I visit.

Apology accepted. You're not getting much help for three reasons:

1) It's not a thirdgen F-body.
2) The data is already posted elsewhere.
3) You didn't state what size engine it's going on...305, 350, 383...

I know there is data posted elsewhere on the board, and I have been here for monts and serched the topic, but not really found what I am looking for. Just wanted to know if anyone had a recommendation for this particular application. I figure there are quite a few people who really know what they are doing and can apply their knowledge in a slightly different direction, towards something a "little" heavier with a need for more torque over HP. Being able to smoke a 'Stang here and there wouldn't hurt either! It has a 350 in it. Thanks! :hail:

This looks good to me with what you have so far:
http://www.compcams.com/Technical/Se...umber=08-304-8

Very streetable and would work with your heads without the larger valve springs. It has a nice torque curve for a 4x4 too.

...as far as this goes...

This guy is here 3 months and posts 213 messages and already he's a mini-mod here! Contributed nothing except the search icon to you question. Sheesh, if the DIY board was only third-gen Camaro/Firebirds Trax and a couple others would be the only ones who could post!

Anyway, welcome and as the new self appointed mini-mod said above... it does help to search but don't be afraid to ask questions either. All my GM TPI/Accel SLP TPI/Stealth Ram/PROM burning experience is in a '89 GMC pickup. That's why I *usually* only answer questions instead of asking them. (I have owned two thirdgens in the last few years though.)

BTW, I've probably just got you thread locked, sorry.
