tpi set up

Gotta couple questions that I'm hoping someone will answer:

1. I'm installing a Spd. Dnsty. TPI with an Accel Gen VII ECM in my old chevy. I don't want to use the EGR but I don't know what to do in order to bypass it correctly. Someone told me just to connect it and tuck it away somewhere. Do I have to connect the vacuum also?

2. Where is the best place to pull vacuum for my MAP sensor?

Your help is appreciated.

well since i doubt the EGR function is in the PROM you should be able to just make a blockoff plate for the intake base and call it good. i dont see why that wouldnt work.

i dont own a SD car but i think the vaccum source for the MAP sensor comes from the plenum.

Yep - on Speed Density the MAP sensor is plugged directly into the plenum. Doesn't matter if you're using stock plenum, ported or not, SuperRam, etc. All go into the plenum.

Good Luck on your project!

Not sure what is in the Accel GenVII ecm, and thats were the answer to your first question relies on. You cannot just disconnect the EGR with a stock ECM without turning that function off in the ECM. I would contact Accel and find out how its setup, may already be a non-EGR set up if they had no provisions for smog programmed in it.
