Doing a fuel pump on my 87 iroc and i have all of the rear suspension out, exhaust hanging as far as it can go, but the tank still wont come out. I got it down far enough that i got the cam ring off and the pump pulls out, but not all the way for me to change it. What did some of you guys do to get the tank out, or is it possible to chenge the pump where i have it??? any help is appreciated cause id like to get the car back on the road ASAP.
Yea, the guy who had it before me welded the whole exhaust system on, soi i guess ill have to cut it then get it welded after im done.....oh well

The last one I did, I cut the pipe in the rear wheelwell where there was a straight place and just used a pipe coupler and 2 clamps to put it back together.Originally posted by GNvsIROC-Z

That's how I did it when I replaced the pump the first time. After that I cut a hatch above it and modifed the fuel lines so they could be disconnected on top of the tank. If you can open the ring deal on top of the tank though, you might be able to wiggle the pump out of there. Maybe someone with smaller hands can get in there and slide the pump out?
Theres just not enough room to get it out, its alot longer than i thought it would be. i hat eto cut the exhaust, but i guess i gotta
