could you guys tell me what i do with the heater hoses? which goes where? also what about the nipples for the PCV valves? and the one for the air diverter valve? also what about the one above the fuel pressure regulator? whats that?

how come theres a nipple on the front of the intake, and two on the throttle body for coolant?

Well for the heater, the one from the front of the intake goes to the hose barb on the under side of the throttle body, then the one on the side of the throttle body goes to the heater diverter valve, then one hose off the diverter valve goes to the heater core, the other line off there goes to the steel line along the frame. the return line from the heater core goes to the steel line along the frame. The steel line goes to the passenger side of the radiator. That was the stock setup on mine, but I eliminated the steel line and the diverter valve... so mine goes: Front of intake (3/4" Line) to the heater core, then from the heater core (5/8" line) to the radiator, bypassing the throttle body, and elimating the diverter valve.

As for the PCV system, My engine has a breather tube on the passanger side, it goes from the back of the valve cover to the throttle body. Then the PCV is on the drivers side, it runs to a hose barb on the intake, between the pairs of runners on the drivers side.

On my car, there are 2 vacuum ports above the fuel pressure regulator on the plenum. One of them is for the fuel pressure regulator itself, the other one is for the heater controls on my car, it is a thin plastic line that enters the wiring harness somewhere around the A/C Box.

I haven't looked at my air diverter valve, so I don't know how things are hooked up there. Hope everything else helps you out tho. If you need pictures of the heater setup, or anything else, let me know I will go take some.

so i should put a T in the lower radiator hose. and then just run the inlet hose for the heater core to that port on the front of the intake?

do i need the PCV valves?

i don't need that port above the fuel pressure regulator, should i just plug it?

why is there coolant running though the thottle body? any reason?

and theres a 3rd port on the throttle body. it goes the heater hose, the PCV hose, and then the other port i don't know what is for. this is on the passenger side of it. what is that port for?

and what about the nipples on the canister? which goes where? and which ones do i need? i know one is for the fuel tank breather.

Well for the coolant return for the Heater Core, I'd say go for the top port on the water pump rather than T-ing the lower radiator hose. I realized you're doing an engine swap, so your radiator wouldn't have the return port.

PCV valve is a good thing to have, I would definetly keep it. Without it I hear you have to change your oil more often, since the blowby gasses will not be vented out as well.

If you already plugged in your Fuel Pressure Regulator, and don't need the second port, just plug it. As for the other port which is on the opposite side of the plenum, it was used for the brake booster, I don't know if you will still need that for your brakes now, but that's the port to use.

Coolant runs through the throttle body to keep it from building up ice in extreamly cold weather, most of us here on the boards just bypass it. I was once told by an auto tech that it cools the throttle body, but if you feel a throttle body with coolant running through it, you can't barely touch it because it's so hot. If you feel mine, it's still warm, but you can leave your hand on it. so it was clearly warming the throttle body up.

The passanger side of the throttle body has 2 ports, plus the one where the coolant runs through. the top one is the breather tube for the PCV, the middle one goes to the canister, then the bottom one is the coolant port, which goes un-used on mine.

The throttle body also has a port on the under side, on the driver side, which is for the EGR, but I am assuming that this is probably hooked up already. That line is tee'd off one end goes to the EGR, the other goes to the control valve for the charcoal canister.

I am not sure about the ports on the canister off hand, one goes to the tank vent, one goes to the throttle body... is there any more? I can't remember.

The other line goes to the purge valve on the charcoal canister. And as stated, keep the PVC valve, a friend of mine had a built 383 and didn't hook up a pvc and the motor was totally worn out in less than 6-months (the gas that blows by has nowhere to escape to and the oil will thin out and everything will go all to hell!!)
If you want some nice info on vacuum diagrams CHEVYTHUNDER.COM has 'em!
