Performance Upgrade

Hi, Has anyone modified their existing 350 TPI and kept it street legal? I'm wondering what can be done to this engine and still meet the emission requirements. I'm thinking cam swap, head reworking, new pistons, timing gears & chain, roller lifters and using the existing TPI system. One of the problems is whether to maintain the existing air pump system and the other is whether to upgrade the base ECM or add a hyper chip. Looking for ideas from other TA owners who have upgraded their engines.
Thanks,
Laser

If you do a search, for modifying tpi, you will finds tons of info on how to do what. As far as the air pump and stuff, make triple sure that you do not have emmissions requirements, because if you do you will definately want that stuff.

judging by the fact that he said "still meet emissions requirements" i think he has emissions. So keep that stuff.

Do a search. But some of the basics are:

exhaust: make sure they have AIR tubes. I have SLP headers with AIR tubes. get a good cat and catback.

Chip/ECM: leave these alone for now. Dont spend money on hyperjunk.

why do you need new roller lifters? unless you meant roller rockers, in which case yea go for it.
