Just wondering if there was a factory prom that could be used in an 88 firebird that was part of a 305 to 350 swap. The car has a manual tranny with 3.08 rear gears. Is that going to be a problem when finding a factory prom because of the manual tranny and rear gears or no? Or am I just better off to get a custom prom burned for it from someone?

 

The PROM doesn't care about the rearend ratio, but yes the manual tranny would be a problem. Most people who run manual trannies with an auto problem experience driveability issues in the lower rpms. You'd be better off getting someone to custom burn you one.

 

Thanks for the input. Looks like a custom chip and some bigger injectors. I would go for the DIY route but this isn't my car and the owner isn't capable of doign it.
