I have an '89 IROC L98. About 3 months ago or so I replaced the alternator. Since that time the car won't re-start, unless I either wait about an hour or disconnect the battery & reconnect it.

By re-start, I mean start the car, shut the car off and then attempt to restart the car.

Any clues what could be wrong?

 

If the car cranks and turns over pretty quickly then I'd suspect your ignition coil, especially if the prob happens when the car is warm. Common problem...

 

It's not a temperature thing, I can start the car, shut it off right away, then try restarting and it won't. Plus, if I disconnect power & reconnect it, the car will start.

I suspect that it is more to do with the computer & a sensor, but wonder where to start looking...
