Ok So the debating question is should i get 373 in my Z28. I have a 355 with vortec heads,LT4 hotcam, base, slp runners, tes headers , banks cat back. right now it has the stock 3.23 in them. do you think its worth it to 373 or will it hurt?

Who knows. Do you race your car? If so, how close to redline are you at the end of the track? when you shift, does your next gear catch into, or under the power band?

Do you plan on changing tires?

I put some 3.73's on my stock 88 Formula 305TPI Auto and it made a huge difference from the 3.23's I had.
The only thing I don't like is that when I am cruising at 80-90 I am at almost 3k rpm in OD.

I currently have the 3.73 in my '86. I love them. I cruise on the highway around 2500 RPM's, Fith gear, about 80-90. I love being able to pass people in fith gear. On a side note, I relized that I am constantly redlining the car. I drive hard, it doesn't take long to get up to 6,000 RPM's, in first gear. Before I switched in the T-5 in, I had an auto. I did not like the 3.73 w/ auto trans. As Zepher said RPM's were to high.

3.73 + T5 or T56 =
3.73 + 700r4 =

I have 3:73 and i'm happy with them. I'm sure it wont hurt you with the setup you have.
