A little a.i.r and smog delete help...
I have searched and still have a question best answered with a picture. Over the passenger side valve cover that unit with 2 coolent hoses running into it I have removed, now should I just connect the pipe with the second pipe in the firewall? Why is there 2 pipes with coolent going into the firewall to begin with? One to put the hot coolent into the heater core and one to bring it out? And if this is the reason how come they both run into the same pipe.....

Not to sure what that has to do with either AIR or smog. The thing you describe sounds as if is the heater control valve, if it indeed is coolant-inhabited.

What you described is the heater control valve. It isn't emissions related at all. What it does is when you put your a/c on it redirects coolant so it dosn't go through the heater core, which makes the a/c run more efficently. If you want to get rid of it to clean up the engine compartment, you can connect the hose that comes out of the throttle body (or intake manifold if you've done 0the TB coolant bypass) with the hose that goes to the heater core using a 90* elbow. You will have to cap off the barb that is on the metal line on the frame rail that the third hose went to as well as the vaccum line that went to the heater control valve.
