Hey, ive got a 2000 L31 vortec roller motor with 9:4:1 stock pistons, stock crank, a .480 int. and .480 exh. lift comp cam, 1.6 roller rockers SDPC vortec tpi intake manifold, 24LB accel injectors and 1 5/8 edelbrock tubular exhaust, and a BBK adj. fuel pressure regulator. Im getting ready to put the motor in but before i do i just wanna ask opinions on runners and throttle body. Im pretty much set on getting a 52mm throttle body, Im really unsure about the runners. I know i should have good amount of torque with this set up, but i dont like the idea of having the torque and pull dying around 4500 to 5000 RPM. So can anyone tell me if I get a set of slp or any other aftermarket high flow runner set, where my torque band will run out? will it be worth it? is it only a couple of more rpms or hundreds more? I would like to keep up with or possibly get passed the ls1's. I read that with the scoggin dickey vortec base manifold and tpi runners and a throttle body u can get some ls1 level power. The only thing different from my set up to sdpc's is they ran a set of 1 7/8 full tube headers. Opinions are very much welcome Thanks,

SLP's are junk unless you're willing to do some serious work to them. A search will lead you to all the details involved with that.
Or you can use the Arizona Speed & Marine Siamesed Runners.
I honestly think you could get away with their large tube runners or TPIS (both the same thing) and be fine for your setup. The SLP's will be cheaper....but alot of elbow grease!
