AFR questions and Pushrod questions:
I am wanting to order AFR 180cc heads. I have read that I don't want the stock springs and that I should use compcams. Max lift with 1.6rr is only .528/.535, this is good for the stock springs right? If not which part number from comp do I want? 987 right?
Also, I read that I need to upgrade to ARP Studs. Is this true, I am only making lift that I posted above with 1.6rr. I looked at the part list and it says that they are one set, does than mean that I need to purchse two sets? That is $150x2 just for studs.
Is there anything else that I need to know before ordering these heads?
Lastly, I am going to be using these heads, and a compcams cam and lifter kit (08-502-8) from summitracing.com, and pro magnum roller rockers from compcams. Which pushrods do I need? I think that I will only need the stock size(length), but I was unsure.
Thanks
Daniel

It is always a good practice to match the spring to the cam (usually use the cam manufacturers recomendation). Assuming a Comp Cams hydraulic roller, yep, the 987 is a good spring to run. It's that or their 986, which is just a step down.
ARP rocker studs are per 16, enough for both heads.
Check the pushrod length with a checking tool. Then you will know for sure what you need.
