Cutting Runner Bolt w/Hack Saw Blade???
Cutting Runner Bolt w/Hack Saw Blade???
Taking off my SLP runners I stripped one of the lower runner bolts heads. It's the bottom center one on the front passenger side.
Anyway I have the thing like 90% of the way out but no matter what I try nothing will get it the rest of the way out.
My question, the torx bolts that SLP sends you, can they be cut with a hack saw blade? I can pull the runner away from the intake by about half and inch and get in there perfectly with one but I don't want to start something I can't finish.
Will it cut through are is it too tough?
Thanks!

Try using the the hacksaw to cut a slot into the head of the bolt and using a big screwdriver in the slot to unscrew it. That or try using some vicegrips on the head of the bolt and loosening it that way. Id avid cutting the bolt of because then you'll have less bolt sticking out and still have to remove it.
Also, if it's 90% of the way out and hard enough to strip it sounds like the bolt is in a bind or crossthreaded.

Yeah, no way in hell to get anything on the head like vice grips or pliers or anything, WAY to tight between the valve cover and the bottom of the runner.
I'll try cutting a slot in the head to use a giant slot head on, getting the slot wide enough would be the challenge...

try a dremel or cut-off wheel with abrasive wheel on it, it wont matter what it is made of.
